Steven C. Miller’s Submerged, which began production in October, centres on Jonathan Bennett (of Cheaper by the Dozen 2 and Mean Girls fame) as a military soldier turned bodyguard turned limo driver whose sole mission is to protect a young woman and her friends from a ring of vengeful kidnappers.
The script, written by Scott Milam, watches as a group of college kids’ riding in a limousine is forced off the road and into the depths of a reservoir. Trapped underwater, their only hope for survival is their limo driver, who’s wounded in the crash. The cast also stars Mario Van Peebles, Tim Daly, Talulah Riley, Rosa Salazar, Willa Ford, Denzel Whitaker, Cody Christian, Giles Matthey and Caleb Hunt.
Brad Kaplan and Tiffany Kuzon at Evolution Entertainment Partners produced the project. “I’m a huge fan of Steven C. Miller, and I love what he’s done with this movie,” said Cassian Elwes, who is executive producing alongside Lainie Guidry. Miller’s previous projects have included the thriller Aggression Scale as well as a remake of the slasher pic Silent Night. Co-producers are William Clevinger and R. Andru.
