The Fantasia International Film Festival is on from July 16 – August 2. We have checked out the massive schedule and somehow whittled the list down to eight films at Fantasia 2026 that we think should not be missed.
UNHOLY NIGHT

UNIDENTIFIED MURDER

Alien abduction, missing children and plenty of plot twists you won’t see coming. Unidentified Murder is a black comedy that combines humour and mystery in a way that feels fresh.
BAGWORM

Funny and repulsive, with a real sleazy feel, Bagworm, follows a door to ddor salesman that is convinced the world is ending and when he steps on a rusty nail causing his health to start deteriorating faster than his relationships, it sends him down an acetaminophen-filled spiral of fungus, tetanus, and unintentional incelmaxxing. Yuck. We love it.
COLONY
Directed by Yeon Sang-ho
Cast: Ji Chang-wook, Gianna Jun, Koo Kyo-hwan
A bio-tech conference turns into a blood-soaked fight against cannibalistic freaks. Yeon Sang-ho who made Train To Busan is back and you just know this will be a splattery zombie films, that will probably break your heart… or eat it.
THE LAST FOOTAGE

Myanmar’s (formerly Burma) first found-footage horror film, shot entirely in first-person POV. Once the sun has set on the cursed Wingabar Forest and eerie howls pierce the night, the POV puts you right in the middle of this spooky forest.
