Max Martini (Pacific Rim) has closed a deal for Legendary Pictures‘ supernatural thriller Spectral
Spectral also stars James Badge Dale and is being directed by Nic Matthieu.
The original treatment for the pic, which Legendary is calling ‘a supernatural Black Hawk Down,’ was originally written by Ian Fried. The script was penned by George Nolfi with a rewrite by John Gatins.
The film is centred on the modern-day, militaristic and gritty approach to fighting the supernatural. Sources say the pitch has been described as a darker and more serious take on a Ghostbusters-like story, with a plot that revolves around a special ops group formed to bring down evil ghosts that have taken over Manhattan.
