Wicked Carnival Productions announced today that they will be releasing their first film titled Sins of Man : Rise of Mortis from writer/director Jamie Santamore on Halloween.
Wicked Carnival Productions is something that came about because I wrote the script for Sins of Man : Rise of Mortis and everyone told me that you’ll need a production company to launch the film so I created Wicked Carnival Productions in January 2014. The name Wicked Carnival came from a script I had written by that title and I liked it so much that I decided to use it as the Production companies name.

Sins of Man : Rise of Mortis came to me after I had watched John Carpenter’s Halloween and Scream back to back one night and I started to think about what I would do if I were to really dive in and write a script with the intent to make the movie and put it out for the world. I wrote Wicked Carnival as a simple writing exercise with no intent to make a movie. but I knew I could write a script and make a movie if the idea was right so I wrote the characters first then all the kills and made what seemed like a million pages of notes I started writing Sins of Man in May 2014 and less then 30 days later I had finished Sins of Man : Rise of Mortis and two sequels making Sin of Man a trilogy.

I’m a life long horror fan, my dad rented Halloween when I was 10 and I was hooked right away. I’m a student of the game so to speak, I have watched all the classic slashers Halloween, Friday The 13th, A Nightmare On Elm Street, Childs Play and Scream. I took what I love about those films and put that into the script. I’m a huge believer in paying respect to those that came before me and I have done that with the script of Sins of Man : Rise of Mortis there are alot of references to horror names, places, writers, directors etc. because without them I wouldn’t be able to write, direct or produce this movie.
